Inside CyberBob - Memories
It has been said in the past, by a wise man, that a person's memories are what guides a person through the trials and tribulations of life. If you are to know a person, you need to know their history, and you need to know their memories, to help in governing decisions based upon them. CyberBob has got both some pleasant memories, and some not so pleasant memories, and he lists them here, in no particular order.
- CyberBob remembers breaking out of his shell, and finally having a social life. A girl named Cathy was responsible for this. While waiting for a computer at the computer labs at university one Saturday morning, Cathy asked CyberBob what he was doing in a couple of weeks time. CyberBob said nothing, and Cathy said that he could go out with her and some friends. So CyberBob goes out, he thoroughly enjoys himself, and Cathy introduces CyberBob to a wonderful cocktail known as an Illusion.
- CyberBob remembers being introduced to many other types of alcoholic drinks (other than beer, which CyberBob first tried when he was around 9), by many different people. One person introduced me to Vodka-Lemon-Lime, another introduced me to Midori & Lemonade, another introduced me to Bacardi & Coke, another introduced me to Rum & Coke with a dash of raspberry, and another introduced me to Southern Comfort & Diet Coke. It was through learning about all of this alcohol that CyberBob got interested in mixing cocktails, and cannot wait for the day that he will be able to do a bar course so he can mix them and get paid for it.
- CyberBob remembers a car ride back from Byron Bay in 1998, with Leah & Joel. The Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs (CyberBob's favourite Rugby League team) were playing the Parramatta Eels. The winner would be going into the rugby league grand final the following week, the loser is eliminated. CyberBob and Joel (who also went for the Bulldogs) were getting a bit upset that the Bulldogs appeared to be on the end of a thrashing, with the Eels being ahead 18 points to 2, with 10 minutes to go. However, a miracle happened. Three tries, in quick succession, two successful conversions, and it was 18 all, with a minute to go. The Bulldogs had possession, and went for a field goal, which missed. Then right on full time, the Bulldogs went for another field goal, which missed by a whisker. CyberBob and Joel were listening to all of this on the car radio, and went crazy each time the Bulldogs scored a try...and were holding their breaths over the Full time field goal attempt. The game went into extra time, and the Bulldogs ended up winning something like 32 points to 24.
- CyberBob remembers the first time he experienced the internet. At first, it seemed strange to CyberBob, and was unsure as to whether he would have a need for it. But the internet kept drawing CyberBob back, and before too long, CyberBob was addicted. CyberBob loved the free, unlimited internet access that he had while he was at university, and once spent his entire day behind a computer, doing who knows what now?
More memories to come.
