Hello, welcome to CyberBob's Cinema. What movie would you like to see today? What's that? You do not know what is playing? Well, take a look at this list, to see what CyberBob has chosen to play in CyberBob's Cinema, and why he has chosen to have it playing.
- Men In Black. Men In Black is a science-fiction comedy, starring Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones. It is a movie about saving Earth, by rescuing the galaxy from an alien. Quite a few funny lines throughout the movie, and in one part of the movie, where they are identifying humans who are really aliens in disguise, it is surprising to see who they decided to call aliens. CyberBob loves this movie because of the flow of it, some of the jokes, and the all-round acting ability of the two main stars.
- American Pie. American Pie is a movie, that ushered in a new wave of what can basically be called teenage coming of age movies. American Pie is mainly about a group of friends, trying to have sex for the first time before they finish school. From the huge success of American Pie came a series of teenage coming of age films, and with them all coming out in quick succession, it got to the point that the films were not doing as good a business as they could have. Hopefully, the sequel to American Pie, will breathe life back into this segment of the market.
- The Naked Gun. CyberBob has always been one for comedies, especially those sorts of comedies where other movies are being sent-up, or real-life situations...and The Naked Gun does both. Leslie Neilsen is the king of send-ups, with nearly any comedy movie he appears in, making people laugh like mad. The Naked Gun is about a police officer named Frank Drebin, and some of the things he encounters. There are two sequels to The Naked Gun, and both of them got more and more off the wall.
- Backdraft. Backdraft is one movie, that actually moved CyberBob. Backdraft is a movie about American firefighters, and in particular, two brothers who end up working at the same fire station...and the difficulties between them. Kurt Russell and William Baldwin are superb in the main roles, with Scott Glenn playing a surprisingly good role as what you would call the unkown villain. This is one of those movies that makes you think about what is important, and what you would put yourself through for another person.
- Kelly's Heroes. Kelly's Heroes is a movie set in World War 2, after the Allies moved into France. It is about a group of soldiers, who make a dash behind enemy lines, to try to get themselves some gold. Quite a few big name actors of yesteryear appear in this movie, such as Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, and Donald Sutherland. There is action, there is a little bit of drama, and there is comedy...in the form of the antics that occur.
- Austin Powers. CyberBob remembers watching Mike Myers on the American television show, Saturday Night Live, and thinking that he is funny. That is proved true in the two Austin Powers movies that have been released. Austin Powers is an international man of mystery, a 60's secret agent, frozen in time, so that the British secret service can call on him when the terror of Dr. Evil rears his head. Mike Myers plays both Austin Powers, and Dr. Evil, and is aided in the movies with brilliant performances by actors such as Robert Wagner, Seth Green, Elizabeth Hurley, Rob Lowe, and Heather Graham.
- Coming Attractions. As with all cinemas, there are coming attractions. The coming attractions in CyberBob's Cinema, are movies that CyberBob likes, but did not make it to the screen this time. These include: Wedding Singer, Independence Day, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Loser, Road Trip, The Carry On movies, Sliding Doors, Space Jam, Can't Hardly Wait, SpiceWorld, American Beauty, Kindergarden Cop, Empire Records, A Fish called Wanda, The Monty Python Movies, The Princess Bride, and many others.
Now that you have bought your tickets, make sure you visit the candy bar, for all of your refreshments to be had during the movie.
